Intermont Search and Rescue Team, established in 2003,  is an volunteer organization based in Damascus, VA, which is the hub of 5 national trails, including the Appalachian Trail and the Creeper Trail. We have members from Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.  The team comes from a wide variety of backgrounds and is a diverse group willing and able to go anywhere anytime we are needed.

Intermont Search And Rescue is part of BDSARCO and is recognized and trained through the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) as a state resource for search, rescue and recovery operations. ISAR is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
